The size of the tyre is a series of 7 numbers typically with a ‘/’ and ‘R’ or ‘ZR’ in between. It is usually found on the side of the tyre and looks like this:

205/55R17

In this example,

205 is the width

55 is the profile

R17 is the rim size

How can you know whether you need a locking wheel nut? If all the nuts on the wheel look identical, you probably don’t need a locking nut to remove the wheel. However, if one of them seems to be different to the others, you may have a lock on your steering wheel.

The locking key is normally kept in the glove compartment or in the boot with the jack. If you don’t appear to require one, don’t worry about hunting for it; we can simply remove the wheel nuts as usual. If you believe you require a locking key but are unable to locate one and require a tyre replacement, fear not! To determine if we can break the lock open and install your tyre, all we need is a picture of the wheel nuts.

We may deduce that the lock cannot be broken, in this case we can arrange for a recovery truck to transport your vehicle to a local garage and have the job sorted there.

Steven burst his tyre on the M4 near Hayes and didn’t have a spare tyre with him. He found our listing on Google and gave us a call. After our team collected some details regarding the tyre and his location, we dispatched a driver from Uxbridge Road and they had reached Steven within minutes. Steven was pleased to have found a solution to his tyre problem and was back on his way to Ealing.
 
Inayah noticed that the front left tyre on her Range Rover had a cut, and had managed to park it on her property on Green Dragon Lane in Enfield. She was unable to drive to a tyre shop as the tyre was completely flat and wasn’t sure how to deal with her tyre problem. She needed a Continental ContiSportContact 5 tyre, which we were able to collect from a supplier and have fitted onto her vehicle on the same day. Karan needed two commercial tyres fitted onto his delivery van for his cake shop near Alperton Station.
